KITO FUSAI
Prof Kito Fusai is past President of the IMSoGB. He is Consultant Surgeon and Clinical Lead for HPB Surgery in the Liver Unit at the Royal Free Hospital NHS Trust in Hampstead, London. Specialized in Hepato-pancreato-biliary Surgery and Liver Transplant, since 1999 he has worked in several Centres of Excellence in the UK and abroad, including King’s College Hospital in London and Nagoya University Hospital in Japan. His primary clinical and academic interest is in pancreatic cancer, liver metastases and cholangiocarcinoma and in the modalities to treat patients with advanced disease, including vascular reconstruction. He has published more than 70 peer reviewed publications and he is a member of several societies and committees, including the European Association of HPB surgery (E-AHPBA) and the EuropeanSociety of Surgical Oncology (ESSO). In 2010 he founded “Fiorina”, a charitable fund for the treatment of pancreatic cancer, which to date has supported several clinical and research projects.
Prof Fusai was bestowed the Knighthood of the Order of the Star of Italy (OSI) in recognition of his international surgical career.
