Sara Volpi

Miss Sara Volpi graduated from the University of Bologna, Italy. Her passion for Cardiac Surgery came out very early during her medical school and she started assisting in major cardiac operations as well as publishing papers. Having researched the best training program in Cardiac Surgery in Europe, she moved to the UK and attained the extremely competitive run-through Cardiothoracic Training Residency in London on her first attempt, after just a few months working as a Cardiothoracic Clinical Fellow in Papworth Hospital in Cambridge.

 

She is an Anatomy Demonstrator and OSCE Examiner for Imperial College School of Medicine, Queen Mary University and King’s College University in London. She is also a Mentor for National and International doctors and medical students who get inspired by her passion and dedication to Cardiac Surgery. She is regularly invited to major conferences to give talks about how to pursue a career in Cardiothoracic Surgery and she is also part of the National SCTS Women in Cardiothoracic Surgery. She obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education at Harvard University.
